“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
“Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do.Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. 10 Comments on the Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments – everybody knows of them and most people have an opinion about them. Yet, more than 60 percent of Americans can't name half of the Ten Commandments.
The first commandment indicates that God moves alone and does not rule with other “gods.” No other God’s stand before the Lord in Heaven or in his Tabernacle. None.
The second commandment comes with the warning that violation of this decree will begin a four-generation cultural decline that God will observe while waiting for repentance before he visits that culture with judgment.
The third commandment refers to using God’s name out of its proper context such as misrepresentation, personal ambitions, attempting to validate something outside of the Lord’s intentions or using the Lord’s reputation for your own advantage. (This is much more serious than using socially unacceptable language! This is manipulation of people while using the Lord’s name. This command is violated most frequently in the pulpit while using socially acceptable language!)
The fourth commandment demands that Israel practice on a weekly basis trust in God’s strength, not trust in their own self and their own work. It is self-enforced humility.
The fifth commandment is the foundation for success in any arena of life: Respect for authority. If a person can learn to respect and work with the established authorities in their life things will go well for them and they will live long. Compare this to the life of most rebels in most situations - things do not go well for them and they do not live long.
The sixth commandment says you do not have ultimate authority over any man.
The seventh commandment establishes the fact that marriage and faithfulness to the marriage covenant is necessary for a successful society.
The eighth commandment establishes the principle of the individual’s rights to property and demands others respect, not only the individual person, but also their property.
The ninth commandment recognizes that justice within a society is based on individual integrity. Successful cultures must love truth, more than they manipulation situations to their own advantage.
The tenth commandment emphasizes that a community cannot be successful while spending time focusing on taking and consuming their neighbor's success.
Nobody goes to hell because they don't obey the Ten Commandments, but they can sure mess up their life, their marriage, their family and their nation when they do not obey these social laws and standards. Failure to follow the Ten Commandments will unleash the forces of chaos in the life of an individual and, eventually, into their culture

Here’s a Fact
The Dome of the Rock on the Jewish Temple Mount is built over the bedrock of Mount Moriah at the location of the Jewish Temples built by Solomon, Zerubbabel and Herod. A depression in the bedrock reveals the spot where the Ark of the Covenant sat. The rectangular cut out and leveled depression matches the size of the Ark of the Covenant that sat inside the Temple in the Holy of Holies.

Water From the Rock
20 In the first month the whole Israelite community arrived at the Desert of Zin, and they stayed at Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried.
2 Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. 3 They quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord! 4 Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness, that we and our livestock should die here? 5 Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!”
6 Moses and Aaron went from the assembly to the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell facedown, and the glory of the Lord appeared to them. 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”
9 So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence, just as he commanded him. 10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” 11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.
12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”
13 These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord and where he was proved holy among them.
Edom Denies Israel Passage
14 Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying:
“This is what your brother Israel says: You know about all the hardships that have come on us. 15 Our ancestors went down into Egypt, and we lived there many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our ancestors, 16 but when we cried out to the Lord, he heard our cry and sent an angel and brought us out of Egypt.
“Now we are here at Kadesh, a town on the edge of your territory. 17 Please let us pass through your country. We will not go through any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will travel along the King’s Highway and not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
18 But Edom answered:
“You may not pass through here; if you try, we will march out and attack you with the sword.”
19 The Israelites replied:
“We will go along the main road, and if we or our livestock drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We only want to pass through on foot—nothing else.”
20 Again they answered:
“You may not pass through.”
Then Edom came out against them with a large and powerful army. 21 Since Edom refused to let them go through their territory, Israel turned away from them.
The Death of Aaron
22 The whole Israelite community set out from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. 23 At Mount Hor, near the border of Edom, the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 24 “Aaron will be gathered to his people. He will not enter the land I give the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah. 25 Get Aaron and his son Eleazar and take them up Mount Hor. 26 Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there.”
27 Moses did as the Lord commanded: They went up Mount Hor in the sight of the whole community. 28 Moses removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar. And Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain, 29 and when the whole community learned that Aaron had died, all the Israelites mourned for him thirty days.

16 “Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, is to have charge of the oil for the light, the fragrant incense, the regular grain offering and the anointing oil. He is to be in charge of the entire tabernacle and everything in it, including its holy furnishings and articles.”
17 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 18 “See that the Kohathite tribal clans are not destroyed from among the Levites. 19 So that they may live and not die when they come near the most holy things, do this for them: Aaron and his sons are to go into the sanctuary and assign to each man his work and what he is to carry. 20 But the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die.”
The Gershonites

Their duties are to be under the direction of Ithamar son of Aaron, the priest.

38 The Gershonites were counted by their clans and families. 39 All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting, 40 counted by their clans and families, were 2,630. 41 This was the total of those in the Gershonite clans who served at the tent of meeting. Moses and Aaron counted them according to the Lord’s command.
42 The Merarites were counted by their clans and families. 43 All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting, 44 counted by their clans, were 3,200. 45 This was the total of those in the Merarite clans.
